The IEEE Symposium on Foundations of Computer Science (FOCS) is the flagship conference sponsored by the IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee on the Mathematical Foundations of Computing (TCMF) and covers a broad range of theoretical computer science. It is held annually in the autumn and is paired with its sister conference, the annual Symposium on Theory of Computing (STOC) held each spring and sponsored by ACM SIGACT.
History
FOCS was founded in 1960 as the Symposium on Switching Circuit Theory and Logical Design. The 1960 conference did not have a separate published proceedings but most of the papers were published in the second half of the proceedings of the 1961 conference. For the 7th instantiation of the conference in 1966, the name was changed to the Symposium on Switching and Automata Theory (SWAT). The greatly increased breadth of the conference led to a name change to its present one in 1975. At that time Alvy Ray Smith produced the distinctive cover art that was a notable feature of FOCS proceedings until FOCS ended the production of printed proceedings in 2010. 近日,国际物理学权威期刊《物理评论快报》以“Experimental Machine Learning of Quantum States”为题发表了上海交通大学金贤敏研究团队在人工智能与量子信息技术交叉领域取得重要突破。金贤敏研究团队与南方科技大学翁文康教授合作,首次将机器学习技术应用于解决量子信息难题,实验实现了基于人工神经网络的量子态分类器。人工智能未来或为量子信息技术带来一场新的变革。

量子信息科学与人工智能技术,作为近年来最前沿的研究领域,不断取得了诸多改变传统信息科学的进展。量子信息科学以量子物理基本原理作为依托,结合数学、信息科学、光电工程等学科,有望为信息安全和计算机的绝对计算能力带来了革命性的提升;另一方面,机器学习,作为人工智能研究领域中一个极其重要的研究分支,在大数据时代背景下,能有效地抽取信息,从信息技术到社会科学等多个领域中,展示了解决实际问题的巨大潜力。因此,能否实现两个领域的交叉关联,成为近来科学家们关注的热点问题。
2017年,国际顶级学术期刊《自然》以“Quantum Machine Learning”(量子机器学习)为题发表长篇综述[Nature 549, 195–202 (2017)],总结了目前该交叉领域的研究进展和未来展望。目前学术界对量子机器学习领域包括两方面研究:一方面是借助量子力学的相干叠加或者纠缠等特性,实现优于经典算法的量子机器学习算法,如量子版本的PCA和SVM算法,以及能有效解决线性方程组求解的HHL算法等;另一方面,将难以解决的量子物理问题对应到经典人工智能算法,提供有效的信息提取和分类,也是量子机器学习研究范畴,已在理论上成功用于研究相变、多体物理等问题,但由于调控技术限制,罕有实验方面的研究。

清华新闻网6月26日电 6月21日,在由法德圣路易斯联合实验室(French-German Research Institute of Saint-Louis)承办的第19届国际电磁发射大会(19th Electromagnetic Launch Technology Symposium)上,电机系于歆杰教授获颁代表在电磁发射技术领域作出杰出贡献的“皮特·马克奖章”(Peter Mark Medal for Outstanding Contribution to Electromagnetic Launch Technology),以表彰其在高储能密度脉冲电源模块研制和脉冲功率技术科学传播等方面的贡献。

国际电磁发射大会是电磁发射领域最高级别会议,每两年举办一次。美国普林斯顿大学已故教授皮特·马克是美国电磁发射计划创始人之一。国际电磁发射大会于1983年设立“皮特·马克奖章”,旨在表彰在电磁发射领域做出的杰出技术和教育贡献的研究者。该奖章在每次国际电磁发射大会上颁发给1人,是国际电磁发射领域最高技术贡献奖。

2018年6月26日,最新的影响因子终于出来了。
ISI每年出版JCR(《期刊引用报告》,全称Journal Citation Reports)。JCR对包括SCI收录的3800种核心期刊(光盘版)在内的8000多种期刊(网络版)之间的引用和被引用数据进行统计、运算,并针对每种期刊定义了影响因子(Impact Factor)等指数加以报道。
期刊的影响因子,指的是该刊前两年发表的文献在当前年的平均被引用次数。一种刊物的影响因子越高,也即其刊载的文献被引用率越高,一方面说明这些文献报道的研究成果影响力大,另一方面也反映该刊物的学术水平高。因此,JCR以其大量的期刊统计数据及计算的影响因子等指数,而成为一种期刊评价工具。图书馆可根据JCR提供的数据制定期刊引进政策;论文作者可根据期刊的影响因子排名决定投稿方向。
排名第一的依然是神刊CA,影响因子超过了240;
NEJM去年冲破70后,今年直逼80;
